I am very pleased to have been appointed Acting Principal at Western Port Secondary College for Semester 1 2014.

Western Port Secondary College is situated in the seaside town of Hastings and was opened in 1974.

It is located in a beautiful rural setting which the students take much pride in.

Western Port Secondary College’s current enrolment is approximately 620 students.

Our mission is to provide a supportive and dynamic learning environment that challenges all members of the college community to perform to their personal best.

We endeavour to promote an atmosphere of mutual respect, tolerance, understanding and co-operation which is underpinned by our four core values of Respect, Challenge, Opportunity, Honesty & Integrity. This will enable our students to thrive in a diverse and changing world.

Western Port Secondary College provides a broad curriculum which caters to many pathway options. We recognise the need to prepare students for further education, for work and for the future in a world of technological and social change. High and realistic expectations are part of the challenge for each of our students.

The College offers outstanding opportunities in a range of areas and has been recognised for its accreditation as a 5 Star Sustainable School, National award winning Beacon Program: Bright Futures-No Dole.

The College also offers a range of activities such as our Taiko Drum program, Human Powered Vehicles, Advance and many more.

DEVOur school places a great emphasis on pastoral care and a very positive approach to student well being. We are constantly seeking to develop each student’s personal and social skills.

The College welcomes prospective families and students to tour the Campus. Please contact Sue Iles on 5979 1577 to arrange a time.
